Position Overview
The School of Mathematical & Computational Sciences at Massey University is seeking two full-time, permanent academic staff members to join the Computer Science and Information Technology group, based at our Albany Campus in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland).
In this role, you’ll provide high-quality teaching and supervision at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, both in-person and online. You will also lead and contribute to an active research programme, including the supervision of Master's and PhD students, and pursue external research funding opportunities.
Your expertise in computer science and programming—along with your passion for education and collaborative research—will make a meaningful contribution to one of Aotearoa New Zealand’s leading computing and data science faculties.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A completed PhD in Computer Science or a closely related field
- Proven university-level teaching experience, including course development
- A strong track record of peer-reviewed research publications
- Experience with online and blended learning platforms
- Expertise in one or more programming languages (e.g. C++, Java, Python)
- A commitment to upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi and inclusive academic practice
Desirable attributes:
- Experience teaching international or distance students
- Prior success in securing research funding or industry collaboration
- A research focus in areas such as AI, cybersecurity, software engineering, or human-computer interaction
