Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
As a Learning Designer at the University of Canterbury | Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha, you will play a pivotal role in shaping innovative, engaging, and learner-focused digital learning experiences - encompassing online, hybrid and blended learning. Working as part of the Future Learning & Development team, you will collaborate with academic staff, media specialists, and subject matter experts to develop learning solutions informed by best practice pedagogies. Your focus will be on delivering evidence-based course design aligned to UC's strategic vision, including biculturally responsive practices, the integration of new technologies, and a commitment to learner success.
Mōu | Who You Are
You are an experienced Learning Designer with at least 3 years' experience in online or hybrid course design, ideally in a tertiary education setting. You will also bring:
- A tertiary qualification (Level 7 or higher) in Education, Learning Design, Instructional Design, e-Learning, or a related field.
- Excellent communication skills, with proven ability to document, explain, and collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
- A sound understanding of learning and assessment design principles, with a focus on innovation and student engagement.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to a dynamic work environment.
- Experience supporting the development of biculturally responsive learning and/or a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
- A proactive and collaborative mindset, and a strong "can-do" attitude.
- Familiarity with educational technologies and blended learning tools.
- Competency in te reo Māori me ōna tikanga is an advantage.
