Position overview
Join our team to drive innovation in space technology. Focus on advanced propulsion systems, autonomous spacecraft operations, and human factors in aerospace. Engage in research on propulsion technologies, autonomous systems, and the physiological and psychological aspects of space travel.
Key Responsibilities:
Advanced Propulsion: Research and develop new propulsion technologies, including plasma, solar, and nuclear propulsion systems for spacecraft and interplanetary travel.
Autonomous Systems: Develop AI algorithms, robotics, and autonomous software to enhance spacecraft operations and exploration. Implement machine learning techniques for improved autonomy and mission performance.
Human Factors and Aerospace Medicine: Study human factors in aviation, including pilot performance, cockpit design, and human-machine interfaces. Research aerospace medicine, including the physiological effects of flight, space medicine, life support systems, and astronaut health.
Teaching: Deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in space technology, autonomous systems, and human factors in aerospace. Mentor students and guide research projects in these areas.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Expertise in advanced propulsion technologies, autonomous systems, and human factors in aerospace.
- Strong publication record and a clear research vision.
- Effective teaching experience and ability to develop engaging course content.
- Collaborative skills and experience in interdisciplinary research and technology development.
