Post Summary

The Irish Longitudinal Study on Ageing (TILDA) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced postdoctoral researcher to lead research on the the influence and impact of arts and creative activities on flourishing in older adults. This project, funded by the Creative Ireland Programme, builds on a successful partnership examining how engagement in the arts supports health and wellbeing.

This iteration of the project will explore how and why the arts and creative activites impact health and well-being through the lens of flourishing. Flourishing is defined in terms of how well people are functioning in relation to their goals, activities, strivings and interactions with the world. This approach has been developed by TILDA in collaboration with Professor Daisy Fancourt, Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Arts & Health at University College London.

The successful candidate will  also identify areas for policy to inform health and social services and programmes for improved health and well-being in collaboration with Creative Ireland.
