Post-Doctoral Researcher Department of Food Business and Development, Cork University Business School (CUBS)
36 Months, Fixed-Term, Whole-time Post
Position Summary
As a Postdoctoral Researcher you will work as part of a cross-institutional team on an exciting new project focusing on the JUSt Transition in the Irish Circular Economy (JUSTICE). This project will help to impact the sustainability and ethical decision making of the fashion and food industries.
The JUSTICE project is an EPA Ireland-funded project focusing on ensuring a just transition to a circular economy in Ireland’s food and fashion industries, with a focus on resource recovery. This project will have multiple parts to it including mapping the sectors and the policy landscapes in Ireland as well as multiple workshops with stakeholders in these industries, an event study on current policy initiatives; multiple case studies to identify obstacles and opportunities for just transition in the food and fashion industries and examine job quality and conditions in these industries. This will be followed by behavioural experiments to test policy and financial incentives ensuring a just transition to a circular economy. Finally, JUSTICE principles will be developed and disseminated with the public, future leaders in undergraduate and postgraduate modules as well as with the resource recovery sector.
Achievement of the expected progression within Post Doc and Senior Post Doc is transferable between the Irish HEI’s. This can be reflected in the starting pay of a PD researcher. Similarly, as the PD scheme is an intergenerational training scheme completion of PD1 or PD 2 levels in one HEI will normally render that researcher ineligible for appointment at a similar level in another Irish HEI Researcher Career Development Framework | Irish Universities Association
