The Department of Political Science at Ashoka University invites applications for multiple Visiting Faculty positions (open rank) for the 2025-2026 academic year. We prefer candidates who can teach the entire academic year, but are open to candidate who are available for only either the Monsoon semester (25 August – 13 December 2025) or the Spring semester (19 January – 9 May 2026). Please indicate your availability in your cover letter.
Successful candidates are expected to have a strong teaching record and a competitive research profile. We prefer candidates with a completed PhD, but are willing to consider advanced PhD students with a strong teaching record as instructor of record. The successful applicant will have a 2/2 teaching load in addition to light administrative and advising duties. Instruction will be in-person.
While we look for candidates in any subfield of Political Science, at least one of the positions will be filled by a candidate who can teach quantitative and/or qualitative research methods. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis.

The Department of Political Science has 10 permanent members with research interests which include but are not limited to Indian politics, comparative politics, peace and conflict studies, political economy, political theory, history of political thought, and legal theory. The Department has a major and minor and contributes to the Politics, Philosophy, and Economics major.
