Research Fellow / Postdoctoral Fellow

Duties

The appointee will assist the project leader in the research project - “Jockey Club promoting family resilience project 2.0”.  The project is a 3-year social service project supported by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust.  The project’s key components include website, online educational programmes and family activities, community-based professional intervention programmes, capacity-building workshops for professionals, needs-based assessment and evidence-based evaluation studies.  He/She will be required to:

(a)    design and conduct research and evaluative studies of the project;

(b)    coordinate and monitor the research implementation;

(c)    collect and analyse data and write reports; and

(d)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants for the Research Fellow post should have a doctoral degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education or other related disciplines with at least three years of postdoctoral research experience or equivalent qualifications and experience.

Applicants for the Postdoctoral Fellow post should have a doctoral degree in one of the above-mentioned disciplines and must have no more than five years of post-qualification experience at the time of application.

Applicants should also:

(a)    have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese;

(b)    have good computer literacy including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint;

(c)    have good knowledge of statistical data analysis using SPSS, R or equivalent modeling;

(d)    have good interpersonal and organisational skills; and

(e)    be a good team player and able to work independently.
