Research Associate / Research Assistant (Full-time/Part-time)

[Appointment period: each for twelve months initially, with possibility of further appointment]

Duties 

The appointees will assist the project leader in the research project - “Development of a virtual reality platform for flicker modulation sensitivity assessment and myopia progression monitoring”.  They will be required to:

(a)    undertake administrative work and project operation;

(b)    collect and analyse research data;

(c)    assist in designing the programmes; and

(d)    perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his/her delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants for the Research Associate post should have a master’s degree or a good honours degree with three or more years of research/relevant experience.

Applicants for the Research Assistant post should have an honours degree or equivalent qualification.

Applicants should also:

(a)    have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese;

(b)    be a good team player and able to work independently; and 

(c)    be self-motivated and organised.

Preference will be given to those who have the following areas of expertise/background: 1) optometry or ophthalmology-related background; 2) further experience/qualifications/certifications related to the area of computing science, augmented reality, virtual reality or artificial intelligence.

Conditions of Service

For full-time appointments, a highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.

For part-time appointments, the remuneration rates are HK$178 per hour for the post of Research Associate and HK$125 per hour for the post of Research Assistant.
