Duties 

The appointees will assist the project leader in the project - “Technology-powered English Across the Curriculum” in supporting the development of English language enhancement outside of standalone English courses for various written and spoken genres in a university via online platforms/interactive mobile apps. They will be required to:

(a) liaise with academic staff in departments to find out their students' English language needs in their programmes, and develop learning resources to address those needs;

(b) deliver briefings/workshops to students on the writing and language resources;

(c) write manuscript, conduct literature review and look for resources;   

(d) design evaluation methods and instruments, collect and analyse data, carry out evaluation, conduct textual analysis, and prepare reports;

(e) provide administrative and secretarial support; and

(f) perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his/her delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should have: 

(a) a Master’s degree or a PhD degree in Applied Linguistics, English Language Teaching and Learning, or a related discipline; and 

(b) demonstrated a solid understanding of university-level writing and speaking genres.

Conditions of Service

For full-time appointment, a highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. 

For part-time appointment, the remuneration rate is HK$178 per hour.
