We are seeking an exceptional
Postdoctoral Researcher – Evaluation Methods in NeuroAI (m/f/d, E13 TV-L, 100%)
to develop statistical methods and computational tools to evaluate models of biological and artificial vision, as part of the DFG-funded Collaborative Research Center (CRC) “Robust Vision” at the University of Tübingen.
This is a unique opportunity to lead your own research agenda while collaborating closely with world-class faculty including Felix Wichmann, Jakob Macke, Matthias Bethge, Philipp Berens, and Katharina Eggensperger. As an independent researcher embedded within the CRC, you will shape how the global community evaluates and compares brain-inspired and AI-based vision models.
Your Role
- Develop next-generation benchmarks and evaluation methods for vision models
- Design metrics to compare neural and behavioral data with computational predictions
- Collaborate with CRC groups on open, reproducible standards for model evaluation
- Mentor student assistants and contribute to shaping the CRC’s research direction
Your Profile
- PhD in computer science, neuroscience, machine learning, or related field
- Strong programming skills in Python and modern ML tools
- Experience in computational neuroscience, vision science, or model evaluation
- Strong communication skills and enthusiasm for collaborative, open science
