One postdoc position in the Humoral Immunology Unit
The Humoral Immunology Unit in the Immunology department at the Institut Pasteur (Paris)[1] is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral candidate. Our lab investigates the molecular and functional basis of virus-specific B-cell immune responses, with a particular focus on the role of antibodies in controlling human viral infections.
Projects outline: Humoral immunity is fundamental to host defense against infectious agents and is driven by the extraordinary diversity of antibody molecules that detect and neutralize pathogens. Advances in single B-cell technologies have enabled precise characterization of human monoclonal antibodies, greatly enhancing our understanding of pathogen-specific B-cell responses. Our research, spanning serological, cellular, molecular, and structural approaches, focuses on generating and characterizing human monoclonal antibodies to viruses including HIV-1, Hepatitis E and B, as well as emerging pathogens such as SARS-CoV-2 and Chikungunya virus. These recombinant antibodies serve as unique “fingerprints” for individual B-cell clones and, when analyzed at both molecular and functional levels, provide critical insights into humoral immunity. This knowledge also informs the development of novel immunogens, vaccine strategies, and therapeutic antibodies with broad and potent activity to fight human infections.
Candidate requirements: Applicants should have a strong background in human B-cell biology, and molecular immunology, particularly in antibody research. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, adaptable, and ready to take on intellectual and technical challenges in a competitive research environment. Fluency in English is required.
To apply: Applicants should send their CV, a motivation letter and 3 references to hmouquet@pasteur.fr .
