Job Description

In this position, you will be part of the absolute forefront in the development of intelligent solutions for positive energy districts, including machine learning/AI methods for optimizing the energy consumption, mathematical models for digital twin technology, and minimum interoperability mechanisms for streamlining the integration across devices, consumers, and technologies.
You will be part of a large international team that strives to make advanced technical solutions happen in reality, and you will contribute to a high-impact holistic solution developed in the Horizon Europe project BIPED.
Responsibilities and qualifications
Your overall responsibility will be to develop mathematical methods and software that support the overall vision of the BIPED project. You will collaborate with colleagues at the department, external academic collaborators, and industry partners from both national and international institutions and companies. Specifically, you will develop data-driven mathematical models that adapt to structural changes in energy consumption time series data, and develop software methodologies that allow the data to interconnect smart buildings and neighbourhoods such that they can coordinate their consumption and local energy production.
Your primary tasks will be to:

  • develop methods for data-driven dynamical modelling, control, and optimization of energy consumption/production,
  • develop software and interoperability mechanisms for coordination between smart buildings operated by AI solutions, and
  • disseminate your work through written reports and presentations and project workshops.

As a formal qualification, you must have a master’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
