Position Summary:

The successful candidate will work primarily on the following sections of the project.

Data analysis: In conjunction with Dr. Deborah Maia de Lima and Dr. Claudia Mitchell, the candidate will :

1) Transcribe and translate interviews conducted in English, French and Spanish into English (Current state of the research);

2) Assist with thematic analysis and report on qualitative interviews;

3) Participate in team meetings;

4) Assist in organizing the project website (https://dancingwiththeland.ca/ )

5) Give language support (English, French and/or Spanish) for writing reports and articles.

The successful candidate will be able to transcribe and translate interviews and photovoice sessions. Assist and launch the project website. Analyze qualitative data in thematic analysis. Assist writing articles.

Artistic visual production - assist in the initial phase of the production of a 20-minutes multimedia “digital dialogue” tool (short film with the results of the research).

He/she/they will work in person directly with the research leader during the working hours.


Qualifications:
- In pursuit of a Ph.D. in Education, Indigenous studies, or a relevant discipline.

- Interest in conducting research in areas related to Indigenous peoples and the interface of land/body-dance and intergeneration, particularly from a trans-continental perspective.

- Expertise on Qualitative Methods, particularly in thematic analysis Knowledge of English and French. Spanish is an asset.

- Availability for presential meetings.

- Ability to use cloud platforms, websites, Word and Excel.

- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills along with a high degree of attention to detail.

- Canadian Citizen, Permanent Residency, or possess a valid Study Permit for Canada
