Postdoctoral positions are available immediately in Professor Cory’s laboratory for the development of small quantum processors based on a hybrid geometry of superconductors and magnetic resonance. The project is to demonstrate coherent control and cooling of quantum processors. The dedicated research facilities include low temperature setups (dilution refrigerators, He-3 systems and bucket dewars), fabrication facilities (for depositing and patterning, superconducting resonators, single crystal diamonds, Langmuir Blodgett films, and thin film magnetic tunnel junctions), and a range of MR spectrometers (NMR, ESR, optically and electrically detected magnet resonance).
Applicants should have an advanced degree (PhD) in physics, chemistry, or engineering, and should have experience with low temperature physics, particularly the operation and running of dilution refrigerators. Experience with magnetic resonance and superconductors is helpful but not required. The positions are part of a team that includes expertise in fabrication, low temperature physics, electronics, quantum information theory, coherent control and magnetic resonance.
The appointment will be for two years with the possibility of renewal. The salary is competitive and commensurate with experience, ranging from $55,000 to $70,000 CAD. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply.
