Position Summary:
Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, the Martial Arts Instructor will be responsible for leading and coordinating martial arts group lessons to registered participants. These classes/courses range from beginner to advanced levels.
Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate martial arts group lessons.

• Adapt lessons to the specific groups - ranging from beginners to advanced.

• As required, modify moves/techniques for any members who may have limitations.

• Address any emergency issues requiring attention to supervisor or security.

**MUST BE PROFICIENT IN TEACHING ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING DICIPLINES:

• Self Defense

• Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)

• Other disciplines are welcomed

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

• Emergency/Standard First Aid and CPR C certification (REQUIRED)Required

• Certification OR experience to deliver and coordinate the activity (e.g., years in training in the specific art, belt promotions)

Knowledge of English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level 4(qualifier) on a scale of 0-4 .
