The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Team Coordinator – Financial Planning & Analysis Intern is a student worker position that supports the FP&A team in daily administrative tasks. This role will provide the intern with an opportunity to learn about financial planning and analysis.
The FP&A Intern will work as part of a collaborative team and be an active contributor in supporting the efficiency of SAIT’s policies and procedures and develop analytical expertise while actively participating in financial reporting and investigation, annual budgeting, forecasting and more.
The FP&A Intern will also assist the Financial Analyst and Finance Business Partners with workload and ad-hoc requests as necessary. 
The Role
    • Business Integration Support:
    • Support the FP&A team as required with journal entries, reconciliations and reporting and investigation
    • Ensure integrity of all financial related information by reviewing financial reports as requested to identify and resolve coding errors or overspending issues
    • Maintain process and reference documentation 
    • Participate in meetings as required

    • Chart of Accounts:
    • Review program FOAPAL codes and detail codes periodically for accuracy in accordance to Finance reporting standards
    • Ensure general ledger structure complies with operational reporting needs
    • ERP and Budget/Forecast system maintenance relating to the chart of account

    • Automation, Innovation & Transformation:
    • Be a positive agent for change and direction.
    • Pro-actively work with Financial Analysts and Finance Business Partners to evaluate and identify change related to processes and tasks to reduce redundancies, align tasks and create efficiency and capacity.

Qualifications & Experience
    • Must be a current SAIT student, enrolled in BA or BBA Program.
    • Some budgeting and forecasting experiences would be an asset.

Hourly Rate: $15.00 - $18.22
