Fall 2025 Course Lecturer Position

The Department of Philosophy is inviting applications for a course lecturer position to teach in Fall 2025. Please include your Cover Letter and Curriculum Vitae and if applicable a copy of your Study/Work Permit. A brief course outline is optional.

PHIL 230-001 Introduction to Moral Philosophy 1 (3 Credits - CAP 196)
A survey of a number of historically important and influential theories. Philosophers to be discussed may include Aristotle, Hume, Kant, Bentham, Mill, and Moore.

Teaching Qualification Requirements:

  • Applicants must have completed a PhD degree or be enrolled in a doctoral program in Philosophy;
  • Applicants must provide evidence of highly effective teaching ability as a result of having successfully taught or worked as a teaching assistant in a similar course;
  • Applicants must have research specialization or competence into some of the major problems of ethics. This may be demonstrated in one of the following ways: (i) refereed publications and/or conference presentations in the sub-field; (ii) thesis level research on one or more topics in the sub-field.

Monday, Wednesday and Friday 12:35 pm-01:25 pm, August 27, 2025 – December 3, 2025. Location: LEA 219.
 

Salary: $11,479 per course.
