About You

The VE Program Coordinator for the Engineering (Associate Degree) is responsible for coordinating the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of innovative, customised, high-quality vocational education and training programs. This role involves leading staff and managing student administration while ensuring that all programs meet the highest standards. The coordinator will work closely with other RMIT Schools, external organisations, and both teaching and administration staff to foster collaboration and maintain effective communication.

Key responsibilities include assisting the Program Manager in program administration and operations, coordinating student enquiries, training package coordination, and promoting and supporting staff in maintaining vocational competence relevant to the education level being delivered. You may be required to assist in coordinating other VE engineering programs as needs present themselves. The coordinator's extensive experience in teaching, educational leadership, and industry knowledge will drive the successful implementation of competency-based assessments.

To be successful in this position, you'll have:

  • Capacity to coordinate the work of staff in the development and implementation of VE programs in the University, industry or within the community.
  • Educational leadership skills that effectively promote teaching and learning. This includes effective interpersonal and communication skills, presentation, facilitation and counselling skills.
  • Ability to contribute effectively as a constructive and proactive member of a team.
  • Teaching experience in the area of this position, including evidence in the use of effective innovative and flexible teaching methods.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in competency-based assessment.
  • Experience in relevant industry, and substantial and current discipline knowledge as it relates to this position.
  • A sound knowledge and understanding of the vocational education and training sector, and of the training requirements of relevant industries.
  • Ability in ensuring current and contemporary vocational competence which meets and/or exceeds the education level being delivered and assessed.
  • Demonstrated skills in the use of information and communication technologies.
  • An understanding of resources management issues, including finance, facilities, management, OH&S, Equal Opportunity and Industrial Relations.
  • Qualifications

    • Certificate IV TAE (must)
    • Diploma in VET (desirable)
