As a Curriculum Administration Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that curriculum proposals align with university policies, procedures and relevant government legislation.
You will provide expert guidance to our academic and professional staff community, use our curriculum management system (AKARI), create, and maintain essential documentation to facilitate a seamless curriculum approval process and be responsible for determining the appropriate approval process for proposed curriculum change/development.
The role is responsible for quality assurance and compliance checking of study packages to support accurate configuration in systems, content for publications, compliance, and governance. You will ensure effective implementation of changes within Curtin systems that supports administration of students whilst remaining compliant.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assist users in utilising the curriculum management system (AKARI) for curriculum approval processes, guiding stakeholders through the end-to-end process
- Develop and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate effective curriculum management
- Provide expert advice in a professional and confident manner to professional and academic staff of all levels, regarding University curriculum management procedures and policies
- Review curriculum proposals to ensure they comply with University policies, procedures, and deadlines
- Verify curriculum information and prepare and finalise documentation supporting curriculum development and proposals, for presentation at University Committees (both Faculty and central Committees)
- Represent the Curriculum Management and Quality team at Faculty Courses Committee meetings
- Contribute to other projects and initiatives to enhance curriculum administration practices and systems
- Completion of a relevant qualification and/or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education training
- Experience working with large databases, systems and information management processes, with the ability to learn new systems and processes as required
- Ability to investigate and analyse data, and write and present reports
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders
- Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with staff at all levels
- Previous experience in a similar role in the higher education sector is desirable but not essential
