Development of an AI-Driven Interoperable Precision Irrigation System for Small-Scale Farming
The proposed dissertation focuses on the development and validation of an interoperable digital system for precision irrigation in small and medium-sized farms. The objective is to design a data architecture capable of harmonising sensor data and integrating them with artificial intelligence algorithms for predictive irrigation management.
The research will include the development of optimisation models for water application and the validation of the system under experimental conditions at SPU in Nitra, including the assessment of environmental benefits and economic feasibility. The dissertation will contribute to the advancement of open digital infrastructures in agriculture and support the competitiveness of small farms through intelligent resource management.
