Offer Description

A call for applications is open for a Research Grant (BI) within the scope of the project “FIRE-LSF: DEVELOPMENT OF PREDICTIVE MODELS FOR THE FIRE RESISTANCE OF LIGHT STEEL FRAME WALLS - AN INTEGRATED EXPERIMENTAL, NUMERICAL AND MACHINE LEARNING”, funded by the “Programme, Innovation and Digital Transition (Compete 2030), European Regional Development Fund FEDER and national funds, Portugal 2030, Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), I.P., relating to operation No. 14895 COMPETE2030-FEDER-00846200”, under the following conditions:

 

1. Scientific Area:

Mechanical Engineering/Civil Engineering or related fields

 

2. Admission requirements:

- Master's students, integrated master's students, or graduates and masters enrolled in non-degree granting courses in the area of ​​Mechanical Engineering/Civil Engineering, or related areas; 

- Suitability of the candidate's training and experience to the objectives of the work to be developed; 

- Demonstrated proficiency in the English language (written and oral communication) will also be valued.

 

3. Work plan:

Update of knowledge for tests according to the standards EN1363-1 (fire resistance tests), EN, EN 1364-1 (fire resistance tests for non-load-bearing walls), EN 1365-1 (fire resistance tests for load-bearing walls).

Development and construction of a reaction frame for testing LSF walls with mechanical load.

Testing and start-up of new hydraulic equipment for adaptation to the reaction frame.

Sample preparation for testing, using the necessary instrumentation, such as thermocouples, displacement transducers, and other sensors.

Performing at least 18 tests (some without load and others with load).

Writing preliminary reports of all tests in digital format, with data collection from the tests also in digital format and all the information necessary for performance evaluation.

 

4. Objectives:

The work to be carried out by the grant holder aims to develop an experimental activity defined in item 3 and all related activities.

 

5. Applicable legislation and regulations:

Statute of the Scientific Research Grant Holder, approved by Law No. 40/2004, of August 18, in its current wording; FCT, I.P. Research Grant Regulations

in force (https://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/docs/RegulamentoBolsasFCT2019.pdf );

Regulation No. 522/2020, published in the Official Gazette, 2nd series, No. 113, of June 12 – Research Grant Regulations of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança.

 

6. Workplace and scientific supervision:

The work will be carried out at GICoS, Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, under the scientific supervision of Paulo A. G. Piloto.

 

7. Grant duration:

The grant will have an initial duration of 11 months, with a planned start date of 04/05/2026 (non-renewable).

 

8. Monthly Maintenance Allowance Amount:

The grant amount corresponds to 1090.98€, according to the table of grant values ​​awarded by FCT, I.P. in the country.

Grant recipients will benefit from personal accident insurance and, if they are not covered by any social protection scheme, they may ensure the exercise of the right to social security by joining the voluntary social security scheme, under the terms provided for in the Code of Contribution Regimes of the Social Security System. The grant amount will be paid monthly by bank transfer.

 

9. Selection Methods and their respective valuation:

The selection methods to be used will be the following:

a) Curriculum evaluation and its suitability for the work in question (80%);

b) Experience in research activities in areas related to the work in question (20%).

 

10. Composition of the Selection Jury:

President: Paulo A. G. Piloto (Polytechnic Institute of Bragança).

Full members: Luís M. R. de Mesquita (Polytechnic Institute of Bragança) and Luísa M. da S. Barreira (Polytechnic Institute of Bragança).

 

11. Method of publication/notification of results:

The communications and final results of the evaluation will be published through the IPB application submission portal or, if necessary, by email notification.

 

12. Application period:

The competition is open from 13/04/2026 to 30/04/2026.

 

13. Application Submission Method:

Applications can be submitted through the IPB application submission portal (http://concursos.ipb.pt ), including the following documents:

1. Candidate's Curriculum Vitae, in Portuguese or English;

2. Academic degree certificates, specifying the final grade with the number of ECTS credits or equivalent and/or the final grades of the completed course units (including the average grade determined with a weight of ECTS credits or equivalent at the time of application).

3. Proof of enrollment in an undergraduate or master's degree program.

4. Letter of motivation, in English or Portuguese.

Documents proving academic degrees or diplomas, or enrollment in an academic degree or diploma program, may be waived during the application phase, being replaced by a declaration of honor from the candidate. Verification of this condition is mandatory during the grant contracting phase.

Academic degrees obtained in foreign countries need recognition by a Portuguese Institution in accordance with Decree-Law No. 66/2018, of August 16, and Ordinance No. 33/2019, of January 25. Presentation of the recognition is mandatory for signing the contract.

 

14. Deadlines and procedures for complaints and appeals:

If the decision to be made is unfavorable to the granting of the requested grant, candidates have a period of 10 working days, after the date of publication of the evaluation results, to express their opinion, if they wish, in a prior hearing, under the terms provided for in the Administrative Procedure Code.

An appeal against the final decision may be made to the President of the IPB within 15 working days after the respective notification.

CONTRATO DE BOLSA DE INVESTIGAÇÃO

 

ENTRE:

 

PRIMEIRO: INSTITUTO POLITÉCNICO DE BRAGANÇA, pessoa coletiva número 600013758, com sede no Campus de Santa Apolónia, 5300-253 Bragança, representado neste ato pelo seu Presidente, ___, adiante designado por Primeiro Outorgante;

e

SEGUNDO: ___, de nacionalidade __, nascido a __-__-____, portador do___ (Cartão de Cidadão/Bilhete de Identidade/Passaporte/Outro) n.º ______, válido até __-__-____, contribuinte fiscal n.º ______, residente na ____, adiante designado por Segundo Outorgante;

 

É celebrado de boa-fé e reciprocamente aceite o presente contrato de bolsa de investigação ao abrigo do Estatuto do Bolseiro de Investigação, aprovado pela Lei n.º 40/2004, de 18 de agosto, na sua redação atual, que se rege pelas cláusulas seguintes:

 

CLÁUSULA 1.ª

O Primeiro Outorgante compromete-se a conceder ao Segundo Outorgante uma bolsa de ____ (indicar e caracterizar o tipo de bolsa e sua referência) no âmbito do projeto “____” (indicar a referência e o título do projeto em que se insere, se for o caso) financiada por ______________, pelo período de ______ (indicar meses ou dias, consoante o caso), _____ (eventualmente renovável OU não renovável), com início em __-__-____.

 

CLÁUSULA 2.ª

1. O Segundo Outorgante obriga-se a desenvolver os trabalhos constantes do plano de atividades anexo ao presente contrato de bolsa, cujo conteúdo declara ter tomado conhecimento integral e aceitar sem reservas a partir da data de início do presente contrato.

2. O desempenho de funções pelo Segundo Outorgante a título de bolseiro é efetuado em regime de dedicação exclusiva nos termos previstos no artigo 5.º do Estatuto do Bolseiro de Investigação.

3. O Segundo Outorgante realiza os trabalhos no _____, sito em __, que funciona como entidade de acolhimento, tendo como Orientador Científico ____ (nome e instituição).

 

CLÁUSULA 3.ª

Ao Segundo Outorgante são reconhecidos os direitos previstos na lei, de acordo com a sua situação, nomeadamente nos artigos 9.º a 11.º do Estatuto do Bolseiro de Investigação, no(s) regulamento(s) aplicável(eis) e no presente contrato.

 

CLÁUSULA 4.ª

O Segundo Outorgante obriga-se a cumprir os deveres, aplicáveis à sua situação, previstos na lei, nomeadamente no artigo 12.º do Estatuto do Bolseiro e Investigação, no(s) regulamento(s) aplicável(eis) e no presente contrato.

 

CLÁUSULA 5.ª

1. O montante do subsídio mensal de manutenção é de €___,__, (__), a liquidar mensalmente, através de transferência bancária.

2. O Segundo Outorgante beneficia também de um seguro de acidentes pessoais durante o período de concessão da bolsa, de cujas condições declara ter tomado conhecimento e aceitar sem reservas.

CLÁUSULA 6.ª

1. O presente contrato não gera qualquer relação de natureza jurídico-laboral nem de prestação de serviços, não adquirindo o bolseiro a qualidade de trabalhador em funções públicas. 

2. Não são devidos subsídios de alimentação, natal, férias ou quaisquer outros não previstos no Estatuto do Bolseiro de Investigação, no(s) regulamento(s) aplicável(eis) e no presente contrato.

 

CLÁUSULA 7.ª

1. O Primeiro Outorgante consagra, como princípio geral, a sua própria titularidade sobre invenções e criações suscetíveis de proteção pelo direito de propriedade intelectual e gerados no âmbito de qualquer atividade de investigação realizada pelo Segundo Outorgante no Instituto Politécnico de Bragança ou com a utilização de significativos recursos deste.

2. Os direitos referidos no número anterior não prejudicam o direito do Segundo Outorgante a ser designado como inventor ou criador no pedido de proteção da invenção ou da criação industrial.

3. O Segundo Outorgante tem o dever de informar o Primeiro Outorgante da realização da invenção ou criação industrial no prazo máximo de 30 dias a partir da data em que esta se considere concluída.

4. O Segundo Outorgante deve abster-se de quaisquer divulgações ou publicações de dados e informações sobre a invenção ou criação antes do cumprimento dos deveres de informação estabelecidos no número anterior e fica obrigado a fazê-lo de forma confidencial, de modo a não prejudicar a possibilidade de proteção jurídica de invenção ou criação.

 

CLÁUSULA 8.ª

O Segundo Outorgante obriga-se a guardar sigilo profissional sobre as informações de carácter confidencial a que tiver acesso por causa ou por mera ocasião da prestação do seu trabalho.

 

CLÁUSULA 9.ª

1. O Primeiro Outorgante procede ao tratamento dos dados pessoais do Segundo Outorgante, inserindo-os na base de dados de que dispõe para tratamento interno, para levar a cabo ações necessárias na gestão da relação laboral, com as seguintes finalidades:

a) Gestão administrativa;

b) Cálculo e pagamento de retribuições, prestações, abonos, subsídios e determinação da antiguidade;

c) Cálculo e retenção na fonte relativos a descontos na remuneração, obrigatórios ou facultativos, decorrentes de disposição legal;

d) Execução de decisão ou sentença judicial, bem como tratamento de pedidos formulados pelos trabalhadores;

e) Tratamento dos outros assuntos relativos a retribuições, prestações, abonos ou subsídios;

f) Gestão de processos disciplinares.

2. Para as finalidades acima referidas, a entidade poderá recolher e tratar os dados pessoais bem como o original e cópias dos respetivos documentos que se incluam nas seguintes categorias:

a) Dados de identificação;

b) Situação familiar;

c) Dados relativos à atividade profissional;

d) Dados relativos a retribuições.

3. Os dados são preservados pelo prazo necessário:

a) Para a finalidade de gestão administrativa de trabalhadores, os dados podem ser conservados por um período de um ano após a cessação da relação de trabalho;

b) Para efeitos de retribuições, prestações e regalias de trabalhadores, os dados podem ser conservados por um período máximo de dez anos após a cessação da relação de trabalho;

c) O prazo dos respetivos dados poderá ser prolongado, por motivos de ação judicial, até seis meses, após a transferência dos dados às instituições judiciárias ou o trânsito em julgado da sentença;

d) Para efeitos de pensões, previdência ou do pagamento de prestações complementares posteriores devidas em momento posterior à cessação da relação de trabalho, os dados estritamente necessários à prova da qualidade de trabalhador, tempo de serviço e evolução da remuneração poderão ser conservados pelos prazos legais por   correspondência a cada finalidade. 

4. O Primeiro Outorgante garante ao Segundo Outorgante um tratamento leal e reservado dos dados que forem recolhidos.

5. São confidenciais os dados pessoais do Segundo Outorgante quanto à sua vida privada ou estado de saúde.

6. Cabe ao Primeiro Outorgante salvaguardar os dados pessoais relativos ao trabalhador que lhe forem transmitidos por este, dando cumprimento à legislação relativa à proteção de dados pessoais.

7. O Segundo Outorgante tem direito de acesso aos seus dados pessoais e à sua retificação, e ainda ao direito de oposição e de esquecimento sempre que, comprovadamente, a mesma se justificar e seja legalmente possível, mediante pedido escrito ao encarregado de proteção de dados.

8. A entidade responsável pela recolha e tratamento é o Primeiro Outorgante.

CLÁUSULA 10.ª

1. Ao presente contrato aplica-se o Estatuto do Bolseiro de Investigação e o Regulamento ____ (indicar a regulamentação aplicável), do qual o bolseiro declara ter tomado conhecimento.

2. Os casos omissos serão decididos pelo Presidente do IPB, ouvido o Orientador Científico.

3. Convenciona-se por acordo entre as partes que em caso de necessidade e para dirimir todas as questões emergentes do presente contrato será competente o Tribunal da Comarca de Bragança, com expressa renúncia a qualquer outro.

 

 

CLÁUSULA 11.ª

São causas de cessação do contrato as previstas no Estatuto do Bolseiro de Investigação e no Regulamento____ (indicar a regulamentação aplicável).

 

 

As partes declaram estar de acordo com o clausulado neste contrato, que é feito em duplicado, ambas as vias valendo como originais, ficando um exemplar na posse de cada um dos Outorgantes.
