Offer Description
The doctoral student will study the integration of molecular motors into supramolecular self-assemblies, and how the mechanical work generated by the actuation of the molecular machine will transform the structure and function of the entire system. This approach will be implemented in soft mater systems, using artificial molecular motors to transduce various kinds of energy sources in mechanical work, and in order to design an entirely new kind of active materials such as those encountered in living systems.
The doctoral candidate will be based in Strasbourg at the Institut Charles Sadron within the SAMS Research Group (http://sams.ics-cnrs.unistra.fr/en/ ).
