Summer 2026 Internships in Vicksburg, Mississippi: 

Background: This task order contract is the result of a successful proposal received under the Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) for research topics in multiple ERDC Laboratory¿s. 

The Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract consisting of a 5-year ERDC Fellows Program at FIU allows task orders for research and development (R&D) projects to support the Engineering Research and Development Center (ERDC). 

It directly aligns with ERDC¿s strategic recruitment and workforce development goals and objectives while simultaneously enhancing collaborative research on initiatives and projects of mutual interest for FIU and ERDC¿s Coastal and and Structures Lab (GSL).

Temporary

Temporary OPS will be selected from undergraduates / graduate students seeking degrees in STEM disciplines, to include but not limited to biology, chemistry, biochemistry, computer science, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, environmental engineering, and environmental sciences.

High school diploma with three (3) years of experience or two (2) years of post-secondary education with one (1) year of experience; OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.

As a temporary employee, you will not be eligible to participate in all employee benefit programs (e.g., paid leave, retirement, or tuition reimbursement).

Under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), a temporary employee who works on average 30 hours or more per week may be eligible to enroll in health care benefits. As a temporary employee, you are also eligible to enroll in supplemental plans (e.g. dental, vision,) which requires full payment on your part.  

Upon completing an assignment, employees may apply for a position on FIU Careers.
