Position Summary
The Strength and Conditioning Coach (Graduate Assistant) will assist the with strength and conditioning for all UIW athletes. The Strength and Conditioning Coach (Graduate Assistant) reports to the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach.
Essential Functions
  • Responsible for all scheduling, training, testing, organization and administration of teams as assigned by the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach, this may include educating student-athletes in areas of nutrition and banned substances.
  • Assist directly with the football program as needed.
  • Responsible for maintenance of weight room, suplement areas and all equipment.
  • Work effectively with all Sports Medicine, Sport coaches, Administration and University staff.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Sincere desire and passion to assist student-athletes in reaching their athletic performance and personal goals.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to enforce weight room, UIW athletic department rules/ policies, and NCAA rules at all times.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in teaching the Olympic Lifts and their variations.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
  • Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
Required Education
UIW graduate student, or accepted to UIW graduate program.
Required Work Experience
None.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One (1) year working in a collegiate strength & conditioning program.
  • Prior experience as a collegiate student-athlete.
Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
Documented progress toward any or all of the following certifications: S.C.C.C, USAW,
C.S.C.S
Work Hours
  • 25 hours per week, varied hours.
  • Some night & weekend hours will be required at select points of the calendar year.
Physical Demands
Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.
