The Upward Bound Math-Science Program is currently seeking a Summer Counselor to join their team of professionals. Duties to include:
30 College Credits (Minimum)
Assist program participants in grades 8-12 developing the skills necessary to ensure high school graduation and future college success.
Assist in the instruction and supervision of young children in recreational activities, sports/athletics, arts & crafts, music, and special events during our 4-week summer program.
Be flexible and able to work well with others while maintaining open and effective communication. Be patient, energetic, fun loving and hardworking.
Assist with creating daily and weekly camp activity schedules and then follow the schedule once it is developed; must have flexibility to make adjustments to schedule as needed to ensure the safety and well-being of the summer program participants.
Supervise and maintain order among students at all times. Assist with frequent head counts of summer program participants, particularly when in route from one activity to the next.
Stay up-to-date on all camp-related matters and communicate with camp leadership as needed.
Attends mandatory trainings as required.
High-School Diploma. Majoring in Psychology, Education, Social Work, or related field and experience working with teenagers.

Student Assistant
- Applicants must be currently enrolled as a student at FIU with a minimum of six (6) credits as an Undergraduate student or three (3) credits as a Graduate student during the Fall and Spring semesters.
- During the Summer semesters, Students need only remain enrolled and are not required to take credit hours, but cannot have graduated.
- Upon decreasing credit hours or graduating, student employment must end.

- Residential: 4pm-12am
- Residential/Overnight: 12am-8am
