The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position Summary
We are seeking motivated, creative, and collaborative individuals who are interested in learning new techniques with excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills to join our highly collaborative team. This work will generate a deeper understanding of the immunologic implications of existing and novel therapies for patients with prostate, kidney, and bladder cancer. The results of this research will be communicated by peer-review publications in high-impact journals by our group and offer exciting collaborative opportunities with academic and industry partners.
Responsibilities
- Work with leading oncologists and translational / basic scientists at the intersection of oncology, tumor immunology, and systems biology.
- Will be a key facilitator of investigator-initiated clinical trials, human tissue processing and the development and maintenance of IRB protocols, and consenting patients for ongoing trials.
- Learn sophisticated high-parametric immunologic assays, including high-parametric flow cytometry (CyTEK Arora), quantitative multi-plex immunofluorescence (qmIF), and single cell RNAseq (scRNASeq).
- Support development and maintenance of IRB protocols for our investigator-initiated clinical trials and interact directly with our industry (pharma) partners as we translate our preclinical findings back to our patients.
- Perform other duties as assigned and requested.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and at least one and one-half years of related experience or equivalent in education, training and experience.
- Experience with coordination of fresh human tissue collection, immediate processing for immunologic assays, and organization / storage of valuable human samples.
Preferred Qualifications
- M.A. degree in medical sciences or a related discipline with a proven record of collaborative laboratory experience.
- Proficient in or learn experimental techniques including tissue culture, flow cytometry, cytokine profiling along with other core molecular biology techniques (PCR, western blots, ELISA, etc.)
