Position Summary
The University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) and Children’s Nebraska invite applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Cardiovascular Imaging and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our multidisciplinary research team focused on advanced medical imaging and artificial intelligence (AI) for pediatric and fetal cardiovascular applications. The successful candidate will work within a collaborative environment that integrates clinical cardiology, biomedical engineering, and computational imaging to improve early diagnosis and management of congenital heart disease (CHD) and related cardiovascular conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and support research projects involving ultrasound, echocardiography, and/or MRI/CT imaging analysis in pediatric and fetal populations.
• Co-lead the development and validation of AI/ML algorithms for fetal cardiac ultrasound image analysis and CHD subtype classification.
• Perform image preprocessing, annotation, and quantitative feature extraction using clinical datasets.
• Manage and organize large-scale imaging datasets with attention to data quality, de-identification, and version control.
• Collaborate with clinicians, engineers, and data scientists to integrate imaging biomarkers into predictive and diagnostic models.
• Contribute to study design, IRB submissions, and data management (REDCap, HIPAA compliance).
• Prepare and present research findings at national and international conferences (e.g., ASE, SCMR, AHA).
• Draft and contribute to manuscripts, abstracts, and grant proposals.
• Mentor students, research assistants, and trainees involved in ongoing imaging projects.
