University is seeking applications for two postdoctoral positions: a
Joan Klein Jacobs Postdoctoral Fellow, and a Postdoctoral Associate, in
Artificial Intelligence, Technology, and Precision Nutrition and Health. These
positions, supported by a generous gift from Joan and Irwin Jacobs, will join
the cadre of trainees at the Center including those supported by the NIH T32
AIPrN training program.
The program is designed to
train the next generation of scientists and build a workforce equipped
with expertise in integrating advances in biomedical engineering, technology,
and Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) methods to tackle
complex biomedical challenges in nutrition and health.
This is a one-year full-time benefits-eligible position that may be extended for up to four more years, depending on performance, continuation of funding, and continued eligibility to work in the United States.
Postdocs will have an
opportunity to work with one or more of the Center’s faculty members and be
responsible for contributing to:
- Manuscripts, reports, abstracts for conferences, grant proposals
- Data analysis and pipeline development
- Technology-based solutions for advancing population health
To be eligible, candidates
must:
- Have received a PhD in computer science, information science, bioinformatics, biostatistics, mathematics, nutrition, epidemiology, biomedical engineering, medicine, or a related science field.
- Candidates should demonstrate quantitative/qualitative research skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work independently and with collaborators. A track record of original first-author publications or conference proceedings from doctoral work is desirable.
- Trainees will be expected to focus on questions related to AI, technology, and precision nutrition for their research, and participate in a capstone course on this topic.
- Postdocs may also apply for pilot funds from the Cornell Joan Klein Jacobs Center for Precision Nutrition and Health, to conduct research (up to $20,000) and/or present at professional conferences, as well as to support registration for online conferences.

Pay Ranges:
The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined considering the following criteria:
- Prior relevant work or industry experience.
- Education level to the extent education is relevant to the position.
- Academic Discipline (faculty pay ranges reflects 9-month annual salary)
- Unique applicable skills.
