Advertised Job Summary
Upstate IT is seeking motivated students, both graduate and undergraduate, to join our team in building automation workflows and applications that solve real problems for faculty, staff, and students across campus.
You’ll work with Microsoft’s Power Platform ecosystem—including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse, SharePoint Online, Teams, and Forms—to create solutions that streamline operations and improve user experiences.
No prior experience with Power Platform required. We provide training on all tools and technologies.
What You’ll Learn
  • Power Platform Development: Build custom apps, automated workflows, and interactive dashboards
  • Microsoft 365 Integration: Work with SharePoint, Teams, Forms, and Dataverse
  • Business Process Analysis: Understand departmental needs and translate them into technical solutions
  • Professional IT Practices: Collaborate with full-time IT staff on real-world projects

Qualifications
We’re looking for students who:
  • Can learn new technical tools quickly
  • Solve problems independently and ask good questions

  • Have strong attention to detail and follow-through

Helpful but not required:
  • Any programming or scripting experience (Java, Python, JavaScript, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)
  • Coursework in computer science, information technology, or related fields
