Scope of Job
The Graduate Assistant will support the college’s marketing and communication efforts by helping create engaging digital content, managing social media activity, and assisting with recruitment and outreach materials. This role will contribute to maintaining an up‑to‑date online presence, producing student‑focused graphics and guides, organizing digital assets, and supporting events and college marketing needs.
  • Plan and develop content for the college’s social media channels.
  • Engage with audiences by responding to direct messages, comments, and inquiries.
  • Monitor social media trends and share insights to improve content strategy.
  • Produce visually compelling graphics, reels, and stories for digital platforms.
  • Design student‑focused guides, flyers, and other materials using Canva.
  • Create recruitment materials that effectively capture student interest.
  • Support academic departments by developing social media content aimed at attracting prospective students.
  • Update website text and images using WordPress or similar content‑management tools.
  • Organize and analyze data in Excel and generate clear, easy‑to‑read charts.
  • Maintain organized digital files and shared media assets.
  • Assist with event planning and the creation of related promotional materials.

  • Proficiency with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools.
  • Ability to create engaging and visually appealing social media content.
  • Basic understanding of website content updates and editing.

  • Strong writing skills with the ability to proofread and ensure error‑free content.
  • Experience managing social media for a student organization, small business, or personal project.
  • Familiarity with basic photo and video editing techniques.
  • Understanding of what makes digital content shareable and audience‑focused.
  • Awareness of effective strategies for reaching and engaging graduate students.
  • Ability to produce short‑form video content for platforms such as Instagram Reels, TikTok, or YouTube Shorts.
