The Graduate Assistant will assist the Office of Student Health and Wellbeing and Bobcats FIRST with developing programs and services related to holistic student wellbeing. The Graduate Assistant reports to the Assistant VP for Student Health and Wellbeing and works closely with the Director of Student Care and Outreach and the Director of Institutional Effectiveness, as well as other Student Life administrators, to enhance the student experience at GCSU. The Graduate Assistant will plan, market, execute, and evaluate programs and tabling events to promote wellness resources and wellbeing practices. This position also assistant with collecting, assessing, and presenting data for a variety of audiences.
This position offers graduate students the opportunity to develop transferable workplace skills including communication, organization, time management, and professionalism.
Program Development - 30
Assist with the planning of Bobcats FIRST workshops, Wellness Day, and other programs throughout the academic year
Market and promote Campus Corner and Serenity Den through tabling, social media, and other marketing materials
Coordinate with units such as Wellness and Recreation, Fraternity and Sorority Life, and Student Health Services to develop collaborative programs
Manage set-up and break-down of events
Clerical & Administrative - 40
Greet and assist students, faculty, staff, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
Help students navigate Campus Corner and Student Care & Outreach resources with sensitivity and discretion
Perform data entry, filing, scanning, copying, and document preparation tasks
Manage supply inventory for Campus Corner and Serenity Den
Assist with scheduling, room reservations, and calendar coordination
Provide general information about office services, procedures, and referrals
Technology & Systems - 25
Use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Support digital record-keeping and database entry tasks
Manage systems including Trooh digital signage, GivePulse volunteer management, Ombea feedback portal, and other data systems (training will be provided)
Other - 5

Bachelor's degree
Other Required Qualifications
Approved for regular admission to a graduate degree program at Georgia College & State University. Upload Acceptance into "Additional Documents" attachment in application.
Maintain academic good standing. If a student's grade point average falls below a 3.00 (academic warning), the student will have next semester or summer term to improve and return to good standing before termination of the assistantship. Should a student fail to return to good standing after the next semester or summer term, or should a student receive academic exclusion and be dismissed from the degree program, the assistantship will be terminated at once.
This position will work in-person 19 hours per week.
Full assistantships (19 hours/week) cover all but $25 of tuition.
Applicable student fees are not covered by the assistantship.
Course loads for graduate assistants must be at least 6 graduate semester hours.

Ability to work a flexible schedule around class commitments, including occasional evenings and weekends

Experience planning student programs through prior campus involvement
Experience managing data using Excel and other tools

Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a busy office environment
