Position Summary Information


Job Description Summary
The Events Assistant for the Dean of Students Office is responsible for assisting with special projects and events for the Office of the Dean of Students. Such events include the Campus Leadership Awards, Board of Trustees Committee meetings, and other high-profile events. The student will be expected to help in the planning and execution of the events, as well as attend the events (if they do not conflict with their class schedules).
Responsibilities
  • Assists with tasks related to the Campus Leadership Awards
  • Takes minutes for high-profile meetings and events, including Trustee Committee meetings
  • Editing and proof-reading documents
  • Assists with catering orders
  • Other duties and responsibilities related to events hosted by the Dean of Students Office
Required Qualifications
  • Effective written and oral communication skills; strong editing and proofreading skills
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Exemplary attention to detail
  • Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills
  • Good time management skills and the ability to prioritize duties when faced with interruptions, distractions, and fluctuating workload
  • Ability/willingness to work some nights (at least twice a semester for Trustee dinners)
Desired Qualifications
Prior events assistant or executive assistant experience
