Job Summary

Manages capital and/or in-house projects during the design and construction phase to ensure project completion within budget, on schedule, and within scope. Determines client needs, develops designs and project timelines, monitors and forecasts budgets, and supervises contractual matters. Coordinates project effectively across multiple people and teams.


Essential Functions 

• Manage resources, optimize performance of in-house higher education projects during the construction phase; provides technical guidance as needed during the project construction phase.
• Ensures compliance, develops a scope of work that accurately reflects the client’s needs and university standards.
• Establishes and manages preliminary budget; ensures the approval of project funding; reviews and approves applications for payment.
• Coordinates with clients, in-house trades, engineers, architects, and contractors to complete project; identifies potential issues and takes preventative measures.
• Maintains proper records of projects and communications; updates computer records.
• Makes recommendations for project selections; obtains reviews; coordinates with others to meet goals and objectives.


Physical Effort 

Light Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
