Summary

Barry University’s College of Health Promotions and Medical Sciences (CHPMS) is seeking a dynamic and innovative full time (12 month) faculty member to join our interdisciplinary group of healthcare experts. This position will be dedicated to our graduate-level Physician Assistant program (Master of Clinical Medical Sciences).

Essential Functions

  • Teach graduate-level courses in the physician assistant program.
  • Provide student mentorship and advising, including master’s theses/projects.
  • Engage in Program, College, and University service.
  • Engage in scholarship.
  • Assist Program Leadership in coordinating clinical rotations.


Qualifications/Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited physician assistant program or accredited allopathic/osteopathic medical program.
  • Current NCCPA or physician board certification.
  • Current, unrestricted Florida licensure as a PA, medical or osteopathic physician (or eligibility).  
  • Master’s degree required. An earned doctorate in a health-related field or in education preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience.
  • Prior faculty experience is preferred.
  • The College of Nursing and Health Sciences places high value on previous experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and experience using distance learning technology.
