The Department of Math and Statistical Sciences is currently seeking a Student Office Assistant to join their team of professionals.

Duties to include:

  • Assist with entering, submitting TAR¿s and Expense Reports for Faculty of both the Mathematics / Statistics Department, Graduate Students (Math PhD & Statistics Master Students), and for invited guest speakers visiting professors
  • Assist with the placing of ordering of office supplies for the Mathematics / Statistics Department when needed
  • Check, and maintain inventory of office supplies for the Mathematics / Statistics Department, and restock items when needed in the office supply cabinets
  • Answer incoming phone calls and / or emails from the department staff email account to assist faculty and students when needed
  • Provide maintenance to the main Toshiba Copier / Printer when needed added paper, staples, and toner to machine
  • Assist in receiving interoffice mail daily and distributing it to all faculty inside their department mailboxes
  • When needed send documents via interoffice to faculty and other specific documents at FIU

Federal Work Study

  • Students enrolled at FIU, who have been awarded Federal Work Study (FWS) as part of their Financial Aid Award package.
  • Student must be enrolled with a minimum of six (6) credit hours in a course of study leading to a degree or a Financial Aid eligible certificate, during Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
  • Upon credits decreasing, award being canceled, or graduating, FWS employment must end.

Schedule based on department needs and class schedule.

$14.00/hr
