What will you be doing?
- Liaise regularly with key stakeholders to ensure the effective provision of resources to enable the delivery of research and teaching of the highest standard.
- Provide direction, leadership, support and guidance to a team of highly skilled technical staff based in CEE
- Advise and assist staff & students on all aspects of technical support services, either personally or through delegation to a member of the technical team with the appropriate skills and knowledge.
- Act as a point of contact for all CEE technical related queries, ensuring effective communication and management of activities within the department.
- Work with the Health & Safety team to ensure all building users are fully informed of and compliant with local H&S policy as part of the Operational Arrangements Framework (OAF).
- Improve the visibility of technicians both locally and nationally as part of the Technicians Commitment by organizing/supporting internal and outreach events to showcase their skills and value.
What qualities are we looking for?
We’re looking for someone who has a passion for empowering others to grow professionally and achieve their true potential whilst delivering technical support to the highest standard.
You’ll have the ability the build effective working relationships with a variety of customers by fully utilising your excellent communication skills to offer solutions to sometimes complex problems on a regular basis.
With an aptitude to understand and interpret the needs of those requiring assistance, and a methodical and adaptable approach, you’ll quickly build your reputation and that of your team as the place when someone needs help.
