About the job:
The Research Fellow will work within the Northern Ireland Cerebral Palsy Register (NICPR) and the School of Nursing and Midwifery. The role involves working on high-impact data linkage project linking the NICPR and the Northern Ireland Longitudinal Study (NILS). The role's primary purpose is to conduct advanced quantitative analyses, lead scientific reporting, and participate in the ethical and governance process of collaborative epidemiological research. Working within an active multidisciplinary team, the Research Fellow will be integral to planning, executing, and disseminating key research findings, collaborating with public health agencies, and supporting data quality assurance throughout the project.
The post is based in Belfast and is not suitable for remote working: the appointed person will have to conduct analyses of data that will only be available in the premises of administrative offices in Belfast and cannot be transported.
About the person:
The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following essential criteria:
- Normally have, or be about to obtain*, a relevant PhD eg epidemiology, social sciences, psychology or allied health. (*must be obtained within 3 months of the date of interview of the post)
- Significant, relevant research experience in quantitative research and data analyses.
- Experience of preparation and writing of scientific reports and a publication track record commensurate with stage of academic career
- Demonstrable experience of successful project management and compliance with relevant governance and quality standards
- Experience in management and analyses of large quantitative datasets using relevant software (e.g. STATA or R)
