Salary: €235862 - €283318 per annum + additional salary.

Locations: Cork and Kerry, Ireland. 

We are currently recruiting a CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist in MHID to join a progressive HSE Intellectual Disability Mental Health Service covering Cork and Kerry.

This opportunity is ideal for UK, EU, US, Canadian, Australian or New Zealand trained Consultant Psychiatrists seeking Irish Medical Council (IMC) Specialist Registration and a long-term Consultant Psychiatry career in Ireland.

 You will join a well-established multidisciplinary Intellectual Disability Mental Health Service, delivering specialist psychiatric care to individuals with complex needs across community and specialist settings.

 

The Consultant Psychiatrist will play a key role in:

Clinical leadership within Mental Health Intellectual Disability services

Working with multidisciplinary teams across community and specialist settings

Supporting service development and clinical governance

Providing expert psychiatric assessment and treatment planning

Contributing to teaching and training of NCHDs and MDT colleagues

 

You will work alongside experienced professionals including:

Clinical Psychologists

Behavioural Specialists

Intellectual Disability Nurses

Occupational Therapists

Social Workers

 

Salary & Benefits:

€235,862 – €283,381 Consultant salary scale (2026 HSE Public Only Consultant Contract)

On-call allowance starting from €11,125+

30 days annual leave + 10 public holidays

€12,000 Continuing Medical Education allowance

€8,000 Research & Innovation grant

Our partnering company will provide full relocation support and guidance through the Irish Medical Council Specialist Registration process.

 

Suitable applicants may hold:

  UK CCT or CESR in Psychiatry with MHID / Learning Disability experience

  EU Specialist qualification recognised under EU Directive

  American Board of Psychiatry certification

  Canadian RCPSC Fellowship

  Australian or New Zealand Fellowship

Eligibility for Irish Medical Council Specialist Registration in Psychiatry is required.
