Teaching assistants in CyberSecurity

Linköping University has a new cybersecurity lab that includes both a computer room for students and a server environment that can be used to simulate different scenarios related to cybersecurity. We are looking for several people with an interest in cybersecurity for temporary assignments starting in the spring semester 2026. The tasks will vary depending on skills and interests and can include 1) software development for use in teaching and research in cybersecurity, 2) participating in research projects in cybersecurity, and 3) teaching assistant for the course Cybersecurity – Fundamentals and Awareness.

To be employed as a teaching assistant, you must be admitted to a university education at the undergraduate or advanced level.

We are looking for candidates with qualifications equivalent to at least 90 ECTS credits in a Computer Science program and at least a basic knowledge of cybersecurity. For task number 3 high proficiency in Swedish is a requirement.

It is an advantage if you have deeper knowledge of computer science and cybersecurity, especially ethical hacking. Current studies at Linköping University. Experience in education, leadership, and organizing cybersecurity-related activities (e.g., CTF competitions).

The Department of Computer and Information Science was founded in 1983 but its roots go back to the early 1970s. It is one of the largest computer science departments in northern Europe. Our research covers a broad spectrum of fields, from core to applied computer sciences. Its vast scope also benefits our undergraduate and graduate programmes, and we now teach courses in several engineering programmes at bachelor’s and master’s levels, as well as the programmes in statistics, cognitive science and innovative programming. You will be working in the Cybersecurity division where the research focuses on securing the most critical functions of digital society. At the university's cybersecurity lab, vulnerabilities in isolated systems are analyzed to pioneer new research methods and train both students and professionals.

The employment is temporary during 2026. Staring date by agreement.

The scope of work is determined by agreement, up to 50 percent of full-time.

Employment as a teaching assistant is regulated in Chapter 5 of the Higher Education Ordinance.

Salary according to LiU's central agreement on teaching assistans salaries.
