Offer Description

Description of the Workplace

Within the Division of Diagnostic Radiology, several research projects in ultra‑low‑field MRI are conducted at the Lund Bioimaging Centre (LBIC). As a partner site in the international UNITY consortium, LBIC has access to a unique 0.064 T MRI scanner, the Hyperfine Swoop. The aim is to further develop ultra‑low‑field MRI technology and study the brain in health and disease.

The work is carried out at the Division of Diagnostic Radiology, LU/SUS, under the supervision of the principal investigator (PI) for the Hyperfine Swoop system in Lund, neuroradiologist Finn Lennartsson (MD, PhD). The project assistant will work on‑site and be surrounded by radiological expertise (MR physicists, radiologists, radiographers, and researchers). MRI examinations are mainly performed within the division’s facilities but may also take place in clinical wards.

The research group working with advanced MRI includes neuroradiologists, MR physicists, PhD students, and clinical collaborators in neuroscience, neurology, neurosurgery, oncology, as well as international partners. We are now seeking a full‑time Project Assistant for a 12‑month appointment.

Work independently and support the principal investigator and other researchers. Manage communication with researchers and participate in the recruitment of additional researchers. Responsible for scheduling and performing MRI scans, as well as archiving and post‑processing imaging data. Contribute to the writing of scientific publications.

The Project Assistant will also have opportunities to present results in various forums. Additional tasks may be included.
