Job title: Evolution of knee model simulation for TKA 

Research line / Scientific-technical services: Multibody system dynamics

PURPOSE OF CONTRACT: 

Support tasks in software development and in the construction of a test bench for the project 

Collaborator on activities related to the project/agreement stated. 

JOB LOCATION AND SCHEDULE: Mechanical Engineering Laboratory, Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 14:00 and from 15:30 to 17:30, Technological Workshops Building, Ferrol Campus

TASKS TO BE PERFORMED: 

The tasks will consist of providing support in: (i) the development of simulation software for knee flexion and extension movements after total knee arthroplasty; (ii) the construction of a test bench that allows the same knee movement to be performed experimentally, and which serves as a reference to verify the accuracy of the simulation; (iii) the development of simulations and experiments, and the comparison of results.

- Required qualifications: as indicated in Annex III of the Call for Applications.

- Knowledge of SolidWorks 3D modeling software. 

- Experience in programming using Python or Matlab.


Specific Requirements

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: 

1. All applicants must meet the following requirements by the application deadline and maintain them throughout the contract period: 

a) Be a Spanish national or hold any other nationality to which Spanish law grants equal rights for employment purposes within the Public Administration. 

b) Possess the required qualifications and meet the other requirements specified in the call for applications. 

c) Be at least sixteen years old and not have reached the mandatory retirement age. 

d) Possess the necessary functional capacity to perform the corresponding duties or tasks described in the job description. 

e) Not to have been dismissed from service in any Public Administration or from the constitutional or statutory bodies of the Autonomous Communities through disciplinary proceedings, nor to be in a situation of absolute or special disqualification from public employment or office by court order, from accessing a civil service body or grade, or from performing functions analogous to those previously performed, in which the person has been dismissed or disqualified. In the case of being a national of another State, it will be required that the applicant not be disqualified or in an equivalent situation, nor have been subject to a disciplinary or equivalent sanction that prevents, in their State, under the same terms, access to public employment. 

2. The hiring of foreigners from non-EU countries, which will be formalized for the sole purpose of carrying out research or technical tasks, will require the presentation, at the time of signing the contract, of the residence and work authorization for others or accreditation of the existence of a cause of exception to said authorization, in accordance with Organic Law 4/2000 of January 11, on the rights and freedoms of foreigners in Spain, and their social integration and applicable regulatory provisions.

Eligibility criteria

Evaluation Criteria:

A. Collaboration grants in university departments: 5 points per grant; maximum 5 points. 

B. Contracts held in research groups will be considered: 1 point per month of full-time contract; 0.5 points per month of part-time contract; maximum 5 points. 

C. Knowledge of 3D modeling software, with special consideration for SolidWorks: 1 point for every 20 hours of accredited training; maximum 5 points.

 D. Experience in programming in Python or Matlab: 1 point per month of programming experience; maximum 5 points. 

E. Knowledge of French: 5 points per C1 level or for French-speaking nationality; maximum 5 points. 

F. Academic awards: 2.5 points per award; maximum 5 points.

- Any merit not properly justified will not be considered, and candidates may be asked to provide additional supporting documentation if necessary.
