Project Manager – prof. Karol Grela, Head of Organometallic Synthesis Laboratory, Faculty of Chemistry, University of Warsawis looking for candidates to work in a scientific project: „Playing with Carbene Ligand Rigidity to Control Olefin Metathesis Stability, Productivity and Selectivity” programme OPUS supported by National Science Centre.

Position is not related  to activities covered by the protection of minors.

Main duties:

Laboratory work aiming at realization of the project. Everyday duties concerning organization of the laboratory work. Overseeing research tasks performed by the PhD students and students. Presentation of the obtained results. Participation in preparation of the papers.

  • PhD degree in chemistry defended no sooner than 7 years before employment date (or thesis close to being defended)
  • advance knowledge of organic synthesis and organometallic chemistry and/or synthesis and characterisation of polymers
  • very good command English
  • at least three papers in international journals (top journal preferred)
  • The candidate must meet the requirements of art. 113 of the Act - Law on Higher Education and Science dated July 20, 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571 as amended).

Benefits

The amount of remuneration: about 117 000 PLN gross/year, based on an employment contract (1 full-time job) for a specified period (12 months) at the Faculty of Chemistry UW/CNBCh UW.


Selection process

The documentation submitted by the candidates will be evaluated by a committee chaired by the project manager prof. dr hab. inż. Karol Grela. 

The results of the competition will be sent by e-mail to the selected candidates till 15.04.2026. 

The competition is the first stage of the procedure specified in the UW Statute for employing as an academic teacher, and its positive outcome is the basis for further proceedings.
