Offer Description

TASKS/ROLE * conducting classes in Polish and English (lectures, laboratory exercises) related to the basics of machine design, engineering graphics, CAD, FEM and other subjects necessary to complete the study program in the field of: machine construction and operation, technical mechanics, strength of materials, automation  * conducting scientific research in the field of tribology, bearing engineering, rail vehicle dynamics, energy efficiency of rail vehicles, biomedical engineering, as well as research involving topics embedded in mechanical engineering, and the impact of tribological processes on the natural environment and human health * participation in scientific projects and publication of work results in scientific journals * organizational tasks for the division and the institute

Requirements
Skills/Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS * higher technical education in the field of mechanical engineering confirmed by a Master's degree in mechanical engineering * a doctoral degree in engineering and technical sciences. Preferred discipline: mechanical engineering (or related). The degree should be obtained in a European Union country or have a Polish diploma recognition * good command of spoken and written Polish confirmed by a certificate of competency (minimum B2) or by an introductory interview * good command of spoken and written English confirmed by a certificate of competency (minimum B2) or by an introductory interview * authorship/co-authorship of scientific publications, including those indexed in the Web of Science and/or Scopus databases (preferably from the JCR list) * authorship and/or co-authorship of patents * experience in scientific research related to the tribology of rolling and sliding contacts, in particular wheel-rail contacts, brakes, possibly heavy-duty metal-metal contacts with complex motion, and bearings * experience in conducting theoretical and laboratory research on the dynamics of rail vehicle wheel sets * ability to model the dynamics of rail vehicle movement using modern computational tools * basic knowledge of how a university operates, with a history of employment at university of at least 1 year * fundamental competency in electrical engineering, automation, computer science, human biology, work in a mechanical workshop, subtractive and additive manufacturing technologies, materials engineering, chemistry, metal bonding technologies and other fields of technology that may be related to tribology, bearing engineering and biomedical engineering * experience in conducting and/or supporting teaching activities at a university in the field of machine construction, engineering graphics (technical drawing), CAD design and transport infrastructure ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS * experience in conducting research projects * programming skills in Python, Matlab, Simpack or similar environments * basic knowledge of the practical operation of the RTEC MFT-5000 research platform, including a multifunctional optical profilometer * practical skills in the construction of mechanical devices, the creation of technical documentation for such devices, the supervision of the manufacture of special components, as well as the assembly and commissioning of mechanical devices.
