Skills/Qualifications
The candidate is expected to:
- hold at least a doctoral degree in the social sciences or humanities in the discipline of sociological sciences or sociology
- author or co-author at least four scientific monographs or chapters in monographs or scientific articles (including at least two in scientific journals) in the field of sociological sciences, which were published in journals or monographs included in the list applicable for the year of their publication (referred to in § 87, sections 1 and 4 of the Statute of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences);
- Obtaining an average annual number of points from research activities (over the last 2 calendar years) awarded for scientific articles, scientific monographs, or chapters in scientific monographs that is at least 50% higher than the minimum average annual number of points required to obtain a positive assessment of research activities for an academic teacher employed as an assistant, as specified in the academic teacher evaluation rules in effect on the date of application submission (the minimum average annual number of points required to obtain a positive assessment of research activities for an academic teacher employed as an assistant is 80 points);
- A positive opinion from the committee responsible for teaching regarding the teaching activities conducted, and in the case of applicants for employment who are not employees of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW), a positive opinion from the committee for a scientific paper presented at a seminar organized at the unit where the applicant is applying for employment;
- Documented knowledge of at least good English or another congressional language, sufficient to independently write scientific publications in that language and present reports at scientific conferences; - managing or submitting a research project involving scientific research or development work, or implementing investments related to education and scientific activities, the maintenance of scientific and research equipment, a research station (SPUB), or special IT equipment (SPUBi), financed through a competitive procedure by foreign institutions or international organizations and by domestic institutions, or obtaining, through the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW), funds for the provision of research services (KZL) commissioned by entities outside the higher education and science system, with a value of at least PLN 50,000;
- having sufficient knowledge of Polish to conduct classes with students in that language;
- having experience in educating students;
Specific Requirements
Required documents:
1) employment application addressed to the Rector of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW);
2) personal questionnaire (form issued by the secretary's office of the Institute of Sociological Sciences and Pedagogy of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) or by email);
3) academic curriculum vitae (resume) and CV;
4) declaration confirming compliance with the requirements of Article 113 of the Act of 20 July 2018, the Law on Higher Education and Science (form issued by the secretary's office of the Institute of Sociological Sciences and Pedagogy of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) or by email);
5) copy of the doctoral diploma or other document confirming the doctoral degree and/or postdoctoral degree in the field of social sciences or humanities, in the discipline of sociology or sociology.
6) list of scientific achievements, including a list of scientific publications with the number of points;
7) Confirmation of managing a research project/submission of a research project to a competition from research funding institutions, e.g., the National Science Centre (NCN), the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBiR), government administration offices, or the European Commission;
8) A list of teaching and organizational achievements;
9) A statement from the candidate or a copy of a certificate confirming at least good knowledge of English or another congressional language;
10) The most recent assessment by the committee responsible for teaching (applies to University employees).
