University of Wroclaw invites applications for the position of assistant professor (post-doc) at the Faculty of Chemistry

Salary: 82 200 PLN/year 

The competition is open to each candidate who meets the requirements set out in the Higher Education and Science Act of July 20th 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1668 as amended) and the Statute of University of Wroclaw.

NAWA Project - Strategic Partnerships 2024 

BPI/PST/2024/1/00028/U/00001 "International cooperation in research on the stability and dynamics of degradation of compounds inducing ferroptosis”.

 

Requirements
The candidate is required to have:

Holding a PhD degree in the discipline of chemical sciences – the competition is open to people who are participants of the last year of the Doctoral School and have a planned defense date.

Scientific achievements in the field of coordination documented in peer-reviewed publications.

Experience in designing and carrying out chemical syntheses, also in anaerobic conditions.

Experience in the use of analytical methods for characterization of organic and coordination compounds, including NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, crystallographic methods.

Active participation in scientific research and research projects.

Publications in renowned international scientific journals within the discipline of chemical sciences from prior research work.

Advanced knowledge of English (sufficient for presentation of the results of research in scientific articles and conference materials).

Knowledge of the Polish language at a level that allows for effective preparation of grant documentation, including drafting project reports, verifying reports submitted by other project team members, and supporting the organization of a scientific conference. The level of Polish proficiency should also enable fluent communication within the country, necessary for conducting project-related meetings and participating in scientific events planned in the project.

Responsibities

Carrying out research as part of the NAWA – Partnerstwa Strategiczne 2024 project in project team.

Designing and conducting chemical syntheses; product characterization; analytical studies.

Participation in scientific meetings, seminars, preparation of scientific publications, and active participation in international scientific conferences and other scientific trips.

Preparing scientific meetings and conferences planned in the NAWA - Partnerstwa Strategiczne 2024 project.

Preparation of reports and manuscripts of scientific publications.

Supervision and mentoring of undergraduate and PhD students involved in the research project.

Basic maintenance and care of research equipment owned by the group.

Self-presentation (information about scientific, organizational, and other achievements).

List scientific publications in the last ten years.

Electronic versions of the two most important publications that the candidate considers representative of his or her scientific achievements or an explanation of the lack of them.

Non-native speakers of Polish are required to present a certificate confirming Polish language proficiency at a minimum of level B2, ensuring effective communication and enabling the execution of project-related duties, including  handling documentation, preparing reports, and participating in meetings and scientific events.
