University of Wroclaw opens the call for applications for the position of assistant professor in the Department of Financial Management at the Institute of Economic Sciences at the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics

Applications are invited from the candidates fulfilling the statutory requirements specified in the Higher Education Act dated 20th July 2018 (O.J. 2018, section 1668) and the Statute of the University of Wroclaw.

 

Minimum competencies, experience and education requirements

  • PhD degree in the field in economics in the discipline of economics and finance is required.
  • In the case of a foreign candidate, fluency in Polish is required (the interviews shall be conducted in Polish to verify the language skills) to the extent that the successful candidate is able to teach in this language.
  • Knowledge of spoken and written English to the extent that it is possible to prepare and conduct classes in this language is expected.
  • Past scientific achievements in line with the research plans of the Institute of Economic Sciences in the discipline: economics and finance, confirmed by publications in this discipline.
  • Competencies, qualifications and experience, including in business practice, enabling the proper implementation of classes, in particular in the following subjects: fundamentals of accounting, financial accounting, budgetary accounting, fundamentals of finance, financial analysis, financial management, business plans, cost accounting, auditing in commercial and public sector organizations, in Polish and English.
  • Knowledge of financial and accounting programs.
  • Previous cooperation with foreign and domestic scientific centers, including participation in scientific conferences.
  • Experience in organizational work for universities.
  • Experience in cooperation with the organisations within the socio-economic environment of the universities.
  • Concrete professional plans for conducting research and scientific development in the discipline : economics and finance, coinciding with the evaluation criteria.
  • Submission of a statement to conduct scientific research only in the discipline of Economics and Finance 100%.
  • Highest level of personal integrity.
  • Responsibilities

  • Teaching and organizational work related to the implementation and organization of the didactic process in the scope and dimension provided for the position of assistant professor in accordance with the current internal bylaws of the University of Wroclaw, in particular in the following subjects: Fundamentals of accounting, financial accounting, budgetary accounting, fundamentals of finance, financial analysis, financial management, business plans, cost accounting, auditing in commercial and public sector organisations, in Polish and English.
  • Conducting scientific research, incl. participation in national and international cooperation projects in research activities.
  • Scientific activity in the discipline of economics and finance according to the accepted standards at UWr (publication of scientific papers in high-scoring journals of international and national scope required).
  • Organizational activity in the Faculty and the Institute, performing organizational work for the benefit of the University, the Faculty and the Institute.
  • Activities promoting the Institute of Economic Sciences.
  • Cooperation with the wider socio-economic community.
  • Performing other tasks and activities related to the implementation and organization of the teaching process as indicated by the Director of the Institute of Economic Sciences.
  • Conducting scientific research in economic sciences in the discipline of economics and finance, including applying for internal, national and international grants, in accordance with the criteria established by the relevant Discipline Council.
  • Publication of scientific research results with the affiliation "University of Wroclaw" and their reliable documentation through and in cooperation with the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics Library.
  • Compliance with the provisions of copyright and related rights in teaching, scientific and creative activities.

  • Electronic versions of the two most important publications that the candidate considers to be representative of his/her scientific achievement, or an explanation of the lack of them.
