Kozminski University is a non-public higher education institution with a broad business profile (management, finance and economics, and law), recognized as the best business school in Central and Eastern Europe according to the "Financial Times" rankings. The Perspektywy national ranking also deems KU as a vice-leader among business universities in Poland, and for many years, the institutions has been ranked first among non-public institutions. Kozminski University is currently recruiting for the position of:

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (applied economy) (research-teaching position) at the Department of Economics

These position include the following duties:

  • conducting research works in the scientific area agreed with the Head of the Department;
  • full-time work provided for the position in the academic year, teaching classes in core economics topics (microeocnomics/macroeconomics/international economics/industrial organization) in accordance with the number of teaching hours assigned to a given position, including teaching in English;
  • taking care of student organizations and projects;
  • supervising students and conducting diploma seminars for bachelor's and master's studies;
  • performing administrative tasks defined by the Head of the Department.

Requirements for the candidate: 

Mandatory

  • doctoral degree in economics (or near completion);
  • a strong quantitative background in statistics and econometrics;
  • research interests in the field of economics;
  • documented scientific achievements indicating that research is conducted at the international level;
  • publications in the field of economics in recognized foreign journals (indexed in the following databases: Scopus or Web of Science);
  • experience of teaching at undergraduate and graduate level in the field of economics, including on -line teaching;
  • readiness to conduct lectures in Polish and English (including for foreign students);
  • experience in supervising students and conducting diploma seminars for bachelor's and master's studies;
  • availability to conduct classes on weekdays and weekends - according to the needs of the study program;
  • knowledge of English at the C1 level, as defined in the European System for the Description of Languages;
  • knowledge of the Polish language at least at C1 level, as defined in the European System for the Description of Languages;
  • readiness to indicate KU as the first place of work.

Desired

  • experience of lecturing at foreign universities;
  • prior experience in popularizing research results;
  • industry experience;
  • experience in the implementation of research projects financed from domestic or foreign sources (as a manager or contractor);
  • knowledge of the use of Office365 and Microsoft Teams;
  • knowledge of remote work tools (e.g. MIRO, Socrative, Mural);
  • independent thinking, creativity, analyzing and drawing conclusions;
  • communicativeness, team work, openness to cooperation;
  • ability to influence others, resistance to stress;
  • professional experience in a financial institution, enterprise, consulting;
  • respect for diversity, personal culture;
  • profiles on major social media (LinkedIn, Twitter, Researchgate) or readiness to set them up.

We offer:

  • employment contract (full time);
  • an annual teaching load of 210 teaching hours;
  • the planned start date for this position is 1 September 2026.
