Offer Description
The Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Warsaw - a leading center of chemical sciences in Poland, recognized in Europe and worldwide, announces a competition for an assistant professor in a group of scientific positions (post-doc in a Dynamic Quantum Crystallography group), in project entitled "Dynamic Quantum Crystallography for Better Understanding Thermodynamic Stability and Solubility of Drug Cocrystals" financed by NCN SONATA BIS 15. Project leader: dr hab. Anna Hoser.
People of all genders are invited to participate.
Main duties:
- running research activities in the field of quantum crystallography
- performing theoretical DFT calculations for solid-state systems and lattice dynamics calculations
- applying machine learning techniques to predict the solubility of pharmaceutical cocrystals
- supervising and supporting PhD candidates and students
- presenting obtained results and preparing manuscripts for publication

Skills/Qualifications
- A PhD in chemical sciences or a related field, obtained either in the year of employment in the project (required on the first day of work on the project) or within 12 years before 1 January of the year in which employment in the project begins
- good knowledge of English (at least B2 level)
- experience in Quantum Crystallography
- good working knowledge of solid-state quantum mechanical calculations
- programming skills
- ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- the candidate must meet the requirements of art. 113 of the Act - Law on Higher Education and Science dated July 20, 2018 (Polish Journal of Laws of 2024, no. 1571 as amended).

Additional Information
Benefits
- a temporary contract with the University of Warsaw, in a full time.
- Planned start of employment 1.06.2026 for 24 months (with possibility of extension) at Faculty of Chemistry , University of Warsaw.
- The amount of remuneration: 140000 per year gross gross.
During the period of employment at the University of Warsaw, the candidate will not draw remuneration from another employer under a contract of employment, including an employer based outside Poland.
