Reporting to the Executive Director, Learning Delivery, the Manager, Learning Delivery Operations is responsible for leading the directorate’s operational and administrative functions, ensuring that the processes, systems, and procedures supporting effective learning and teaching delivery are well-coordinated and operate efficiently across the Learning Delivery Directorate.

Key responsibilities will be to:


  • Provide operational and administration support, including financial and budgeting.
  • Ensure compliance with operational processes and policies.
  • Coordinate reporting and respond to learner feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate contracts and agreements for learning delivery.
  • Establish communication channels with internal parties to support delivery arrangements.
  • Recruit, retain, and develop staff in line with Open Polytechnic's policies.
  • Maintain quality and minimise risk through appropriate systems within the team.
  • Ensure resources and facilities are available for direct reports.

This role is based at our Lower Hutt campus.

If you have the following qualification, skills and experience we would like to hear from you.

  • Knowledge of Mātauranga Māori, understanding and knowledge of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and some proficiency in Te Reo me ona tikanga Māori
  • Well-developed communication skills with the experience to effectively clarify goals and communicate information in a business situation
  • Proven successful team management and coaching experience including remote management
  • Experience leading and driving strategic change, operational planning and implementation
  • Relevant operational and administration experience with emphasis on customer focus, preferably in a tertiary education environment
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly establish rapport and credibility to work with peers in a collegial, constructive manner
  • Financial management and budgeting skills.
  • Ability to interpret complex data for organisational improvement.
  • A graduate qualification
