As an Academic Staff Member within the Engineering team, you will play a key role in delivering across the New Zealand Certificate in Mechanical Engineering (Level 3) programmes, including support for apprentices in industry. You will help shape a dynamic, learner-centred educational experience that equips students and apprentices with the skills to thrive in their communities and the engineering industry.
Ngā mahi | Key Responsibilities
· Deliver engaging teaching and hands-on training in mechanical engineering at Levels 3 and 4.
· Provide guidance and support to apprentices, ensuring successful progression through their programmes.
· Maintain a safe, productive workshop environment with strong health and safety practices.
· Contribute to course development, assessment, and moderation processes.
· Actively support learners from diverse backgrounds to succeed.
He kōrero mōu | About You
· A recognised trade qualification in mechanical engineering (or related discipline)
· Significant recent industry experience in mechanical engineering.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate well to students.
· A passion for developing the next generation of skilled tradespeople.
· Commitment to high standards of health, safety, and professionalism.
· Teaching experience is not required - full training and support will be provided to help you gain teaching qualifications.
